STORM ACADEMY LAUNCHES MONDAY MORNING SKATE

20 Aug 2019 by Seth Bennett

The Manchester Storm Academy is launching a new training session in September. It will mean an early start for those who want to take part, as the session runs from 6-7am on a Monday. This training time is aimed at players 10+ and will be a chance for them to develop their skating, stickhandling and passing skills.

Coach Nick Crawley will be running the session and is delighted to be able to offer another opportunity for the players. "It’s great to be able to offer this Monday session to our players. Frequency of ice sessions is key when developing players and their core hockey muscle groups. The training will be around repartition to build the players technical base in skating, shooting, stickhandling and passing.

“This is a really exciting development which we haven’t been able to offer previously. I’m sure the benefits will be there for everyone to see as the season progresses.”

This is a huge step forward for the club and goes some way towards cutting the gap on other hockey countries, who offer their players four or five ice touches each week.

The cost of the will initially will be £60 for four sessions, but that will reduce, if more than 15 players commit for the month. The first block will begin September 16th and will run for four weeks. If it is a success and there is plenty of interest, it is something the club would be looking to continue moving forward.

You can register right now via the events section of team appand payment must be made via the store by September 7th.

This is a session open to all EIHA registered players.
