Back on Home Ice

We had fantastic news on Friday that the local lockdown measures in Trafford would lift from Wednesday the 2nd September and we can get back to our Home ice to commence training.

We will initially continue with the training bubble groups outlined and communicated previously; however, we should be able to move to our regular training groups shortly which will mean two sessions a week for the majority of age groups.

Indications are that we will be able to have competitive games sooner that we had anticipated and even if the league does not start for a few months we will look to arrange friendlies and we are already in discussions with Planet Ice about a mini competition with other teams located at Planet Ice rinks in the Midlands and the North. With the potential that the Elite Manchester Storm team will not play until at least December, then this will also open up opportunities to arrange in-house matches with extra ice time available and this is something we are already exploring.

Whilst it is great news that we can start training, we need to be mindful that things can change and that we must do all we can to help reduce the spread of Covid and keep our members safe. To support this, attached as some guidance and rules that we need to follow when at the rink. These will be circulated again by the Team Managers, and should you have any questions please let them know.

Please look out for any further messages on your current training groups over the coming days and we look forward to seeing you at Altrincham ice rink very soon.
